David's Tea Sangria

I went to Kitsilano Beach this past Sunday with some friends who were visiting me from out of town. It was by far the most beautiful day we have had in Vancouver this year. A friend of one of my best girlfriends brought a few pitchers of his David's Tea Sangria and was nice enough to pass along the recipe to me. The recipe is a healthier take on the popular summer drink although you hardly notice the lack of sugar. It was the most delicious and refreshing sangria I've ever tasted.

THAI FRESH WRAPS

 

I recently purchased a copy of a raw and vegan cookbook and am so excited to try the first recipe. The only complaint I have about the book is that each recipe requires you to use other recipes found throughout the book. Each recipe is listed on other pages in the book, making you search to find the recipes. I decided to write the recipes up for myself so they would all be on one page.

Since I'd already typed it up I thought I'd share one recipe with you. You're going to love it!

The Gorilla Food cookbook is filled with delicious and healthy recipes for all kinds of meals, even vegan/raw pizza. 

Art Nouveau

I've started my third quarter at the Art Institute of Vancouver and am enrolled in a class entitled The History of Design 

Our second project of the class is an Art Nouveau inspired advertisement and I've chosen to combine the cover of a modern day Vogue issue with an Art Nouveau styled magazine. This is the cover in i's roughest form but I'm liking the direction it's going so far. Let me know if you have any suggestions or ideas!

For those of you who don't know I've started my own photography company, wing images. These are a few nature shots I took the in my neighborhood the other day. Summer is just around the corner and the Cherry Blossoms are everywhere in Vancouver!

Raspberries

Blackberries

Splenda (optional)

Boil water, pour into a teapot along with one bag of passion tea. Allow the tea to steep for 5-10 minutes. Pour the tea into an ice filled glass, add extra ice, raspberries, blackberries and enjoy!

Fresh Pineapple

It's that time of year again when the sun starts shining and all you feel like eating is fresh fruit and delicious summer salads! Recently I've been eating fresh pineapple for breakfast and I can't help but feel like I'm back in Hawaii. Whenever my family visits Hawaii I eat pineapple religiously. 

Now I know this is kind of a boring post but for my birthday I received an incredible new macro lens for my camera and I've been dying to try it out. What do you think?

I had the task of putting together an ad for my photoshop class this week for a well known brand. I chose to do Alexander Wang one of my favorite designer. I used two images from the 2013 lookbook and created this monochromatic color scheme which seems to keep the brand image intact.

Having been living in the city for nearly a year now I find it hard not to come across an event that doesn't feature Lyndsey Chow and Lauren Clark's curated vintage collection, Hey Jude. I recently found these pictures on my computer and realized I had never posted them. The images above are from a pop up shop the girls held this summer in Chinatown.
